Looking at trying some alpha 6.5 creedmoor brass. Just wondering if it’s worth it to switch to srp or stay with large primers. Also does alpha make 2 grades of brass or is all of it the ocd brass . Thanks

I believe all their brass is OCD now or transitioning to it - thats last I heard on an interview that Greg from Primal Rights did with the owners of the company. I made the switch to SRPs when switching to 6.5x47. Glad I did. A) its been so much easier to find SRPs (I have thousands now) and its more versatile. B) I can switch to 6x47 or 6 creedmoor with only a change of bushings and bullets. My creedmoor brass is LRP but dont have a ton of it so if I was buying new, it would be SRP. Folks also claim more consistent ES/SDs with SRPs but I have not tested it myself. My .02.

Mt. Boy,

All the brass coming off our production line is now OCD technology which has optimized the case hardness for improved performance. When you purchase our brass it will also have an OCD marking on the ammo box sleeve.

As for SRP or LRP, I would pick which ever you have the most primers on hand for. I do not see any accuracy or SD/ES difference between the srp or lrp. You may get slightly more primer pocket life with the srp but it wont be vastly different. I will note that the lrp brass has slightly less volume than the srp, so start 1gr down if you select the lrp for load development.

You can always DM or call us too if you have any questions.
