So far worked up a load shooting 87 vmax that is constantly in the .3s to .4s. Have some 95 Nosler BT and Berger 105 vld to work up a deer load.

Waiting for the Vortex Viper HS-T in MOA to release for final scope. Want something with a lower end power range. Then need to figure out what to take the shine off the stainless with. Debating media blasting it or sending it in to Black Ice for coating with Teflon. For now it will just get a little camp foam tape wrapped around it.

My go to antelope/deer loads in my Savage .243 are with the 95g Nosler HBT & the 85g Sierra GKHP...cant be beat IMO.
Others to give a try 80g barnes tsx/ttsx, 90g swift (419 BC)., 85g nosler partition.
They all shoot under moa from 100 - 400 yards.

a buddy of mine just spray painted his. ive used a palm sander with 40-60 grit. gives a cool look.

Media blast will make the barrel match the action...am surprised your gunsmith didn't tell you about it before he finished the barrel...knowing it was going to be a hunting rifle..

It was a off the shelf prefit barrel. No gunsmith involved.

Thanks, The time and true did significatly lighten up the bolt life on my rifle. It seems that some start out harder than other and ymmv. I had good luck sending my action to SSS sent it in when they said they were ready for a batch and had it back in about a month. I was prepared to wait much longer from what i have read.
