Alliant 15.5

Retired shooter

Gold $$ Contributor
Hello all

From those of you that have used it. Your suggestions & thoughts on RE 15.5 powder. . Any comparison to Leverevolution, or CFE 223, or BL -C2. What is the availability factor ? Will be used for 6ARC under 110 A tips..

Winter sucks, got the snow plowed, thinking warmer thoughts, .

Thank you.

To all a good day. :D

seems a decent bit slower than the powders you’ve listed. It’s also bulky, I’m using a 10 in drop tube to get enough in the case to hit velocity I get easily with N150 in 308. It’s a stable powder and it shoots very good in 308.

You might look at ARComp as it may be a little better for 6ARC. Both are very temp stable.

Availability is a little sketchy as with a lot of the Alliant powders.

I have not run numbers through Q/L . Thought about this yesterday whilst plowing snow.
Freezing my :eek::eek::eek::eek:. off.

To all a good day.

I also use it in a Dasher with 109s. It is bulky so I also use a drop tube. Its shoots well and has amazing velocity.
Thank you.
Will run some numbers through Q/L. See what it says. Snow on the ground, extra cold outside. Will be a good time to explore the options.

Are you seeing the same velocities as H4895?
If I remember correctly, I need a slightly larger charge of 15.5 to match my H4895 velocity with a lighter charge. I will check my notes when I get home next week. However, I did not experience any pressure signs when achieving the same velocity. For reference, I shoot 108 and 109 grain bullets in my BRA around 2880-2900.

It shoots really well in my 22BRA with 88eld's. Slightly faster than H4350, about 1.5gr difference for same velocity.
