I have a Cooper M21 for which I'd like to substitute Allen head action screws for the slotted head screws the rifle came with. Does anyone know who might be able to provide these?

I've had difficulty in tracking down what I want. I believe the specs are 1/4"-28. They have to have a countersunk head to fit the bottom metal holes properly, and the tops of the heads are not quite flat--with a slight curvature. I'd like to find either Allen drive or Torx. The length can be made right by cutting down longer screws if I can find the latter. They need to be either blued steel or black oxide SS.The screws should be pretty easy to find if you know the thread specifications
John, that's a good lead. I checked it out and found that they have black SS as well as silver. I'd need the black ones for them to blend in. The only possible problem is that by cutting them to the right lengths, I might be left with too few threads.Greetings,
BAT Machine makes / sells the nicest SS Allen head action screws I have ever used. The socket is quite deep compared to any I have seen. They come in 3 different lengths. Well worth a look.

1/4X28, I used two Rem 700 long screws ,and cut them. It was a Cooper MODEL 21 single shot. Got mine from BAT.. Stockys has them too. Just my two cents.. Yes, I contacted J&P and was told that they no longer make them for Cooper rifles.https://www.jnpgunsprings.com/
This is where I got mine from quite a while back.
You might want to call them and ask as I don`t see them listed anymore.
Seems to me that one of the rim fire accessory guy`s offers them, J`N P might know who that is.....
Phil.
I have some Rem 700 screws and could, I guess cut and use them. However, the amount needed to be cut from the shorter front action screw would leave me with only about 4 threads for engagement. Not sure that that's enough. In addition, on the M21, there's a third, middle, screw that holds down the front of the trigger guard (a wood screw I think).1/4X28, I used two Rem 700 long screws ,and cut them.
