Maybe reading the State statutes on "Negligent Homicide" would clarify things for you , just a bit . Falls under the old John Wayne movie line . "Your fault , My fault , It don't matter" ! A careless act , resulting in the death of another human . N-E-G-L-I-G-E-N-C-E- ! He was negligent for not checking the gun , himself . And lack of proper training , or He's a "Actor" is not a justifiable in defense in any courtroom .
Do race car drivers check the air in the tires or to see if there's no leaks under the hood?

He's a "Actor" [sic] is an excuse. He is absolutely not an expert. So just exactly what is a non expert supposed to look for? (especially when you have experts telling the non expert that shit is GTG)

I agree that he will not be charged. But, I don't think it has anything to do with guilt or responsibility. If it were anyone other than a wealthy, well known individual, I would expect charges, charges beyond what could be proven in court, so that it could be plead down to what it should have been to begin with.
Two sets of rules, one for them and one for the rest of us.

AB is producer. He has money at stake. He is on set, his set. But those are just the facts. Now there was talk about people going off set ( how far off and where exactly? and shooting a (pistol / firearm). He damn well knew a firearm was on his set. Did he take measures about the safety of the firearm? Remember it’s his set!!!
We all know he will it be charged. Too much money and power. Hopefully her husband rips his ass for millions.

As much as I dislike Alex Baldwin I don't think this was his fault. This was a movie set where a gun was being used as a prop. There were multiple people who were considered experts or competent persons whose job is to make sure the prop is ready to be used by the actor. Loading the correct ammunition is the responsibility of the expert or competent person. I don't think you could reasonably expect the actor(s) to check the condition of the ammunition/prop every time the expert hands said actor the prop for each and every scene/take.
My flame suit is on....
I'm not sure. Have you read New Mexico's statue on involuntary manslaughter?

And, why couldn't it be expected an actor would check the gun every time it's handed to them? Would you expect an actor to check a gun that was handed to them for a suicide scene?

OK so he is not an expert, how do you explain him shooting the assistant director? If he was filming and shoot the actor that was supposed to be be shoot according to the script, or even rehearsing the scene I get it. But why is he shooting a gun he didn't check at a person who is not another actor or part of the plot?

Fact is they were all there working on the job. Standard Operating Practices and Safety Rules Apply on ANY job. The person not applying the SOP and breaking those Safety Rules are at fault. There should be NO GRAY AREA in it at all for AB or anybody else involved with the process.

"He's only an actor not a firearms expert " BULLS**T. He was in control of a potentially lethal weapon and as such needed to understand the consequences of misuse of the firearm. He could as well been playing with a black mamba - I'm certain he would have been equally casual in that circumstance.

I do not believe AB is capable of determining the difference between a non-firing prop gun and a real gun. He was just following the script and taking his direction from the director.
