AISC mags question

Hello,
Say I have a 270 Remington 700 adl that I want to convert to a magnum caliber, will the ‘06 feed lips need to be modified to allow use of the AISC mags for magnum calibers?
Thanks,
Ken

Ken,
First of all, your 270's bolt face will not (to my knowledge) accept any of the magnums without it being opened up or replaced. The 270 Winchester has a BF of .473 and (as example) the 300 Win Mag has a BF of .532.
Next, there are two different LA AICS magazines. The first, which covers all the .532 BF cartridges such as 300WM, 7RM, 300WSM, etc does not normally require any modification to the feed lips of the magazine or the feed rails of the action. The other is the 338LM (or CIP length) magazine. There are now a couple (300PRC is a prime example) of newer cartridges that require the use of CIP mags in order to take advantage of the longer bullets seated out farther. Using these magazines will require mods to both mag feed lips and removal of the feed rails in the action itself.
Hope this answered your questions.

There are 2 style 338LM mags. CIP as stated above will let you run the longer bullets. I run a straight 338lm and 300 WSM. AICS Mag for my 6.5x55 Imp. Some feed lip polishing and tweaking is almost always required to get them to feed really well. It's no big deal.
