airrifle for coyotes

Thanks, everybody, for the feedback. Looks like I will need to find something other than an airgun to deal with this matter.

I guess I'm confused by this post; are you looking to blast some rounds off in your yard to scare away coyotes in the area or are you looking for a weapon to dispatch coyotes that are coming in the proximity of your grandchildren? Coyotes couldn't care less about the sound of gunfire, they will quickly return whenever they sense potential prey.

Where I live it's illegal to discharge firearms in the city limits, but my wife and I don't leave our house with our daughter without a 9mm. I don't care if it's a coyote, a giraffe, or a crackhead, if they come close to my wife or daughter they will be handled as necessary.

I have had nothing but trouble with the rogue giraffe that run wild in my neighborhood. Lol. Just can't help myself. Great reference. LMAO.

Regards, Paul

All of this air gun talk forced me into ordering a new Wolverine B ;D, although the archaic state in which I live does not allow hunting with an air gun >:(

Super gun.
It was either that, or the Royale 500. I really don't need the 25 cal.

Edit: I actually changed my order and went with the Royale. Both are factory moderated, and the Royale gives me 45+FPE.

Learn to trap. Use leg holds in suburban areas. I have a similar situation. Snares will kill the neighbors dogs, but leg holds are not immediately lethal and someone's pet can be released without harm. Dispatch the yotes with a .22 short in your old squirrel rifle (or revolver) and the neighbors will have no idea anything ever happened. Trapping coyotes is challenging and also happens to be profitable, a fun hobby and a great way to increase game populations.
