Airglide case & bipods

My AirGlide case (for $34 / free shipping) arrived yesterday. (Not bad for having ordered it Friday afternoon.) I was concerned as the rifle with 28" barrel & Harrell's brake measured 49.75" long, and I have a big Sightron 10-50x60 scope mounted on it.

Then another thought occurred to me when I went to try the rifle for fit - I've got a Caldwell 6-9" pivot bipod that I would rather not remove each time I get the rifle out of the case. You see, I get it out of the case a couple times most days in the summer while groundhog hunting.

Anyway, after quite a bit of foam trimming and moving the front foam block back two inches, IT FITS. I can even leave the elevation turret cap on the scope, although it touches the rear attachment point of the handle.

I know several guys have commented that they wish the case was a couple inches longer. I wish it was an inch taller or the handle moved forward about 1.5". A lot less foam trimming if that had been the case.

Otherwise, I am very happy with it and will likely order one more.

Moving the handle point forward would help clear the Elevation turret and help with balance (30" tubes are already noseheavy).

I do like mine.

Exactly. I forgot to mention that balance would be improved by moving the handle forward. Plano should offer a "F-class" case that is 2" longer, slightly taller, with the handle moved forward. They would probably sell a boat load.

I have a couple of Airglide cases for shorter barreled BR rifles and I really like them. I agree that a slightly altered version for longer varmint/tactical style rigs would be a great idea. Don

I wonder, if we took a poll to see how many would buy an AirGlide case that was an inch or two longer and had the handle moved forward 2", would Plano consider making it?

I'd be in line, at least 2" longer, 4" would not hurt as I have an adjustable butt plate that doesn't fit either.

Also as mentioned, higher and move the handle......

I love my case....i hated having to take on and off my harris....but I swapped to a sinclair, so I'd not have a hope either way, haha...

I'll buy more as I build more rifles, for sure

And, if you can't find them locally, you can always order off of Amazon and often get free shipping. Don
