AI for AR??

OK< ,, So I've pretty much convinced myself to go AR.. So, I have my Mini-14 Target that will be gathering dust.. (Not Really) Question, has anyone ever played with the notion of .223AI in the AR/ Mini-14 platform? I'd wondered if you'd get enough 'crush' in the chamber when jacking one in?
Chambering issues? Pressure related issues? Silly Question?
I already have .223AI in a Thompson Contender..
Other issues? Not to get carried away, just curious..?? ???

Sure, it can be done; one of our local shooters was using 223AI in his high power rifle (space gun) last summer. He didn't have any trouble with it that I saw and it shot like a dream; a little more oomph for 600 yards where the 223 is working hard. Should be an easy chambering job, and pressures should be very close to 223; a rifle-length gas system should work just fine.
