AI bedding

Howdie all

I have an AI stock for my Remington 700 action. Would there be any benifit is bedding it further with steel bed or such like product?

What is an "AI" stock??

I did not know Ackley did an Improved stock design..

Not a bad idea to bed 1" or 2" past action with heavier barrel profiles.

Chambering not determing factor, barrel weight is.

I have one of their stocks in my closet for a project that I
have yet to finish up,just have to get the barreled action blued). I haven't tested it myself yet, but, from what I hear, a skim coat is usually necessary to ensure solid contact between the recoil lug and the bedding block.

Its an Accuracy International stock. Alminium subframe with Poly sides. The action sits in a V block arrangement and the barrel is totally non supported. Not sure I like it. Having said that it is accurate as is.
