Unneeded for any BR, ugly, always potential for misalignment, for weight class guns unneeded weight , you will never see one on a CFBR gun.J
Whats complicated about a pic rail ? Its fewer pieces than dovetails. It allows more mounting flexibility.
Those are elegant, have some BAT one piece but frankly when it’s time for serious maintenance or barrel swaps they’re a PIA. Dovetail bases, rings, pretty reliable and if you ever need to swap scopes pretty idiot proof, that’s what all my RFBR guns wear.I’m running Talley one piece mounts on two 2500X actions. I told Talley they fit but I don’t think they updated their website. I can get a mount number if you’re interested. I prefer one piece mounts on everything. Less screws to come loose.

Impossible? Study up there sharpshooter. How do you misalign a ONE PIECE item? Thats literally impossible. Now TWO dovetail mounts could be misaligned.
Weight, weight class, "unneeded" have nothing to do with aesthetics.
Never seeing a pic rail on a CFBR is irrelevant.
Your only salient point is YOU think they are ugly. Which is fine. I disagree.
And its indisputable pic rails are highly functional, adjustable, allow for more mouting options and are impossible to misalign

You know how often don’t fit properly because action holes are often less than exact.
Usually why high precision outfits usually run two piece systems with rings either bedded or lapped in.
You’re playing “sniper” ringing a gong is one thing, set up for BR, entirely another.
Much to learn, you do.
P.S. read the OP, he ruled out a rail, I got zero skin in the game.
I like this solution. Are these Rem 700 style, or which of the listed models are theseI’m running Talley one piece mounts on two 2500X actions. I use a Savage S/A 20 MOA EGW picatinny rail and cut it down as I only mount it to the front receiver ring. and bed the base to the action you can get them for around $40.00 works great. As a newby I get to ask some really dumb questions without too much backlash. While my new 2500X is being assembled, I have been looking at accessories needed to complete the gun. I really don't like the look of the full picatinny rail, looks too large for the action. I did see a dovetail mount that is aesthetically pleasing but, how functional are they. Seems the selection of scope rings with a dovetail base are really limited. What base mounts are all y'all using?
Well now, that’s not something you see every day.I use a Savage S/A 20 MOA EGW picatinny rail and cut it down as I only mount it to the front receiver ring. and bed the base to the action you can get them for around $40.00 works great.

Tim,Well now, that’s not something you see every day.
May one assume you subscribe to the BC “ action expansion/ scope distortion “ theory?
