Advice on Magnum Rebarrel

i assume you handload, just cut your loads back, even try cast bullets, get it down arround 2000 2300 fps and it will be a lot easier to shoot, BD

I still love the 264 Winchester Magnun even with it shot barrel life. It is a pleasure to shoot and you can drive 120 gr bullets at 3300fps. It is a killing machine. Even though you have to replace the barrels after 500-600 rounds if you want those little groups that it is capable of shooting. Every barrel I had on mine was very very accurate. I wouldn't be without one.

I have also looked at the 6.5- 270WSM s brass may be easier to get. The 6.5 Rem mag is some what hard to get as rem is only supplier and only make the brass in periodic runs. The short mags are popular now and should be avilable for the future as rifles are being sold from the big manufactures. You can form brass from any that is longer with the same base as in the case of the 6.5 rem mag vs 264 win or 7mm rem mag, 300 Win mag. I shoot 7 rem mags but do like the 6.5's.

The 264 Winchester Magnun and the 7mm Remington Magnum both have there place and both do a wonderful job. The both use the same case just one is 6.5mm the other is 7mm so this leaves to bullet weight you need. Both being accurate you can't go wrong with either one I just couldn't pick one so I have them both the very best of both worlds. Which ever one you choose you won't be wrong.
