Advice on action bedding

Advice-- When bedding a short length action, using a 1.25, 30 inch barrel, is it advisable to bed the first inch or so of the barrel to get a longer bedding area? Thanks for the advice in advance.

I don't think you want to bed the barrel, just the action. Think about changing the barrel …… you would have to rebed……..jim

No need to bed under the barrel. Watch a video by Richard Franklin or Darrell Holland, do it the way either one of these two instruct and you will come away with an excellent bedding job.
