Adjustable cheekpiece in a HS Precision stock

I have a Savage 10FCP in .308. Great stock rifle with HS Precision stock.. My question is does anyone know of a GOOD stock person that can cut it and put an adjustable cheek piece kit in it or can it be done??? I see someone has done it on the same stock on the internet but I love the stock and don't want to change for a different one especially the cost. Gun will shoot under 1/2 minute at 600 yards. Any thoughts. I now have duct tape and foam under that to raise my cheek to get a good weld.

Not quite what you were asking after... but have you considered an aftermarket saddle cheekpiece, like the ones available from Karsten's Custom Camo?

I've used his Model A's on several F/TR rifles, and have the Model B on an HS Precision stock (110FCP .338LM). Pretty easy to install yourself with minimal tools (painters tape, cordless drill, a pencil and some bits) and no need tear your gun apart or ship it off for some unknown period of time.

YMMV,

Google Stock Doc. Here's a link to some of his work. Jducos is his screen name on SnipersHide.

There are lots of guys that do work like that. The best by far is Doan Trevor. He's the finest stock maker I've ever come across. Not sure how much work he's doing on other MFGs stocks, but he can always point you in the rifle direction. Just google him and you find his website.
