adding weight to a BR rifle

I am going need to add some weight to my new BR rifle and what are the pros & cons of the location where the weight is added, some say never at the butt stock and always in the foreend area of the gun, what is the best position.

It will depend on how heavy your barrel will be rather it needs it just in front or not...
I usually do both ends if I'm looking for lots of weight... just to try to come up with a good balance so it don't dip and dive around when it's shot....

My rifles will have a balance point about an inch in front of the action, and seem to shoot well there. I have talked to a lot of other shooters and they have echoed this finding. This may help guide you in your weight placement. There is definitely not a hard and fast rule on this type of stuff, but extremes in either end will lead to poor bag riding characteristics. A well balanced rifle is a thing of beauty.
Hope this helps,
Mike
