As long as there are major shooting wars going on, there will be shortages in the civilian market.

The simple fact is, munition and arms manufacturers make fortunes during wars. I can’t even take a guess at how many tons of nitro/cellulose based powder is used in just one week in the war in Ukraine. Heck, it might be more than the entire civilian market uses in a year.

It would seem to be good news that a new manufacturing facility is built.
however, this is probably a response to the tremendous opportunities in the military market, not us Just trying to have a good day at the range.

We will probably never see any of that product.

And it's not just shooting wars buying up all this product. It's something else. If one were to actually do the math, these companies are producing far in excess of Vietnam war production of small arms ammunition. No, it's something else. Someone else.

IMR propellants are scarce around KY, but recently Cabela’s had IMR 4064, 4831 at $60, and just yesterday, 4350, albeit at $75 per lb. I have not seen 4198 in any form for quite a while.
Of course I’m still looking for Trail Boss for subsonic projects.
