Adams Custom Rifles??

Has anybody had any recent contact with Dennis Adams of Adams Custom Rifles or know if he's even still in business? I've been trying to contact him but it is to no avail. Thanks

Thanks Dusty. I'm aware but couldn't top the thread from last year.

I've tried to be patient especially given the personal difficulties he relayed he was having on here last year. But, two and a half years and the lack of communication or any kind of follow through has moved this into the surreal for me. At this point I just want my rifle back.

Sent him a Dakota 76 rifle that was re-barreled by HCR for one of his muzzle brakes, installation of said muzzle brake, and to have the barreled action re-cerakoted. He received the rifle on 1/31/17. Waited a year and reached out to him by text and email first on 2/19/18 and then subsequently on 2/22/18, 3/1/18, and 3/16/18 about the progress of my rifle. On 3/17/18 he finally responded, apologized and said he had two other guns to finish then he would get to mine. Given that he relayed on another thread here that he was having a very difficult time with depression I felt bad for him. I told him no worries, not in a rush for it, and to take care of himself. Of course I fully expected to have my rifle back based on what he told me before now (more than one year later from the date of that 3/17/18 email).

I've tried contacting him by email again on 6/11/19 and 8/14/19 on the progress of my rifle and had no response. I don't think I'm being unreasonable here. While I'm sympathetic to his plight I think this has gone beyond excessive. Again, at this point I just want my rifle back.

Good luck getting your stuff back, if I was you I would make a trip and check on it in person, he use to work at Harrell's precision in Salem virginia. I feel your pain, had the same thing happen to me several years ago and lost a pile of cash, never again! No reason it should take a year to install a muzzle break, that's BS! I've had barrels chambered with breaks put on in less than a week. My friend I think you have been taken for a ride! Like others have said get a lawyer and hopefully get your gun back plus some money for your trouble!

This is not meant to rub salt in the wound, but stories like this remind me to keep doing business with my local gunsmith.

I CAN TRUTHFULLY SAY, I SENT DENNIS A BUNCH OF BOLTS TO FLUTE, SOME I PICKED THE PATTERN & SOME HE ASKED ME TO SEND HIM A BOLT OR 2 TO TRY HIS NEW MICRO FLUTING which I did & they turned out beautiful.and with a reasonable turn around time too.i called him & he said he was having a hard time, so I am just waiting for him to get better.PLEASE GIVE THE GUY A BREAK LIFE IS HARD. give him a chance to make it right.

At some point is it considered theft ?
I learned my lesson with Adams, won't be doing that again.

Tommie, I agree with you wholeheartedly, but unfortunately there are no competent gunsmiths local to me. With that said I've been dealing almost exclusively with Eddie Fosnaugh for at least the last ten years for all my custom rifle builds (seven and counting) and smithing needs. Eddie's fanatical attention to detail and impeccable work are second to none. He's not the fastest, but he builds superb rifles that are absolute tack drivers worth waiting for. He's a phenomenal communicator who keeps me apprised on the progress of every step of my builds. In a word, he's a true "professional".

Eddie got backed up so this was my first foray outside of using him. So to your point...yeah I got bit on the a$$ for it, lol.
