Action thread timing Question

According to the NSSF.
A Minute of Angle (MOA) is an angular measurement. A MOA is 1/60th of a degree. 1 MOA is a different size at different distances, 8″ at 800 yards is still just 1 MOA.

I agree with that definition. Ballistic program say hold .3 left. The bullet will travel 1.88" right at 600 yds.
I'm and have been talking about group location by doing the math. Dead on at 100 how far does spin drift move the POI at 600. Not by the definition a MOA.
I apologize for nit picking, but I don't want someone who doesn't understand what an MOA is to be confused by your approximation. I understand that you know what you're talking about and it works for you.

1 MOA is not 8" at 800 yards. It's 8.376". An MOA is an MOA. Lots of scopes have MOA reticles that can be used to make measurements in MOA which correlate to their MOA turret.

I understand that it doesn't matter a whole lot if youre shooting BR or F Class where the target is fixed at a known distance for the entire match. In PRS/NRL matches with small targets, the error could be enough to make you miss or second guess the validity of your ballistic program. Same thing hunting at long range.

I should have been clearer from the start that I was talking about POI shift due to spin drift. In Hornady 4DOF with zero wind you can only get a true 100Yd. MOA correction. I use MOA as most of my scopes are in MOA. I just did the math to determine the shift in POI at 600 for a visual reference.
