Action decision made. Now which stock?

RBLPRE is what I'm after. Trying to decide between the B or the DS, also melonite or no melonite. If I go melonite, do I go receiver only or everything? Or just the bolt?

Looking for opinions...

The B and the DS a the same length action. DS has some other options. Either action is a great fit for the ppc. I personally like the melonite.

All im seeing on Bruno’s and bullet central is the DS with the ppc bolt face. Is that what I want? My panda has a .308 bolt face.

Think about the br bolt face it will pull a ppc case and will pull a .473” case
I would vote for the DS all melonite.
Are you going to shoot registered matches?

Ok,

Some may disagree but even as good as the Bat D and DS is they need to be gone thru and the pin fall and force just overall ignition system checked out by someone who knows these actions. Then bedded by the same. The stock choice is as important as the action
You may already be working with a short range smith idk. Consider getting in touch with Col. Billy Stevens, Wayne Campbell, Dave Bruno. It may take a year to get it in the right stock but it will be worth the wait

Although getting an action is quicker thanks to some vendors stocking them, the time to get the rifle built is usually quite a bit longer. I suggest getting the process started and in addition buying a known used rifle to get some experience with the PPC. When your new rifle is ready sell the used one.

For someone serious about competition that year wait will save you two years after you realize you have to backup and do it anyway.

This will only ever be a ppc for me. Any other advantages or disadvantages with going with a larger bolt face than the ppc, for a 6ppc?

No
At some point if you did sell. It would move easier.
There is no disadvantage to the BR face for a ppc
