Action choices??

Was wanting to build a little lightweight, short barreled sporter and can't decided which action to go with, a Stiller Predator or Borden Alpine?? I have 3 builds on Defiance actions and was wanting something different for the next. Hope to hear from guys that have experience with either and which they prefer.

The Kelbly Atlas is my fav of the round 1.375" actions,,,many options with port configurations etc,,,,same threads as a Panda...Roger

Jim Borden is working on Titanium I am waiting. Buy a Borden and don't look back. You wont be unhappy no matter what you do, why not buy one of each!

Borden,Kelbly,Pierce .........in no particular order.

You'll give your Phoenix/Defiance/Stiller actions away after cycling one of the above!

I'd pick the Borden Alpine.

To Dan's comment above, have cycled and worked on all of those actions....keep buying more Defiance Deviants. :)

What cartridge are you building around?

Last summer I cycled my buddies Borden. It felt really good and I just bought one last week. I have had a Panda, a Viper, a Lawton and a bunch of Bats. I liked the way the Borden felt. Matt

I have both. Like the Alpine best .. Like butter. The Stiller is my second choice.. Just mt Two cents. Tommy Mc..

I don't have that action. I own a Borden, BAT, and a Kelbly Atlas. The Borden is the smoothest, and best timing.

If you want the best, I'm a fan of the Borden actions, but in all honesty...in a hunting rifle, you'll never know the difference between any of the actions mentioned, IMHO. There are little things that make the Borden what I consider to be the "best", but they are small and I don't think a critter(or target) will know the difference in a rifle configured as a hunting gun. If it means a lot to you to have a tad tighter clearances, a tad smoother feel and better trigger timing...the Borden can't be beat, IMHO. But there are simply more important factors to what makes a good hunting rifle than those things. If you go with any of the mentioned actions, you didn't go wrong. If you want the best, call Jim.
