Action for F-Open in $1000-$1200 price range?

BAT. I like all the models. The MB, B, S, SB, and SV can all interchange barrels. They are all smooth and great customer service. "Buy the best and cry once"
I also like the Borden. I promise a Borden timed by Jim himself will be one of the best feeling actions you will ever have in your hands.

Which model of BAT Zilla? Just curious.

Zilla prefers the aluminum, but we keep telling him only wood BATs are allowed in the majors. He's quite stubborn though...

Must have been the repetitive scope cuts on the forehead......

I've used several custom actions for F-Class rifles over the course of the last 7 years. If buying today, I would go either Barnard or BAT (stated in no particular order). Only the Barnard comes with a good trigger.

Realistically, I have seen rifles with all types of actions (Remington 700, out of the box Savage, Stiller Tactical, Surgeon Tactical, etc.) shoot incredibly well on the F-Class firing line, in the vast majority of cases its the indian reading the wind, not the bow that wins the match.

Jeff, I think in most cases you are exactly right! I have some of the best equipment available for my rifles, yet I am a mediocre shooter, and worse at 1000 yards! It is all due to my reading the wind like hieroglyphics!! I don't golf, but put a Callaway in my hands and I will still slice with the worst of 'em! Now, if you can read the wind with reasonable accuracy, then the best equipment makes you shine! So I am in your ballpark on that!!
