I'm starting the thought process on a possible 243 build. The rifle will be 'replacing' one of the two I currently have - a 600 243 and a 99 in 243. The 600 is going to my Grandson this Christmas since the little nipper (he's only 4.5) took his first deer this year!
So, here's the question - which of these factory actions would you choose? I'm not made of money so the custom actions are out of my league and I'd like to end up with a 24-25" barrel to squeeze a bit more fps out of the round.
Here's the list:
Remington model 7
Remington 700 SA or LA
Remington 788
Howa
Tikka
Since cost is a factor in the action and all of the above have good to decent reputation for accuracy with a good barrel, which would you suggest?
