Ackley Seating Die

Looking at spinning up a 260 Ackley barrel. My question is can I use a standard 260 seating die for the Ackley or do I need a specific 260 Ackley seating die?

Thanks

A Hornady generic 6.5mm seater will work fine. Get the VLD seating stem and the micrometer adjuster, if you want some visuals.

I seat my 223AI with a regular 223 Rem Hornady micrometer die. No issues. Don’t take my word for it with 260 though, lol

I am sure I am using a regular 7-08 Forester BR set and seat bullets in my 7-08AI with it. Always thought most seating dies had enough room for the AI shoulder. Like Lee collet dies.

I use Vickerman seating dies. They are caliber specific, but not case specific. Easily adaptable for seating depth or changing caliber. I have Redding Micrometer seating dies for some of my rifles, but I use the Micrometer Vickerman. They work really well with the .22 and 17s because they have a port in the side of the die for the bullet, no more pinched fingers. I also don't have "run out" problems. The 'outer' part is universal the 'inner' part is caliber specific, so only 1 'outer' is required, then just purchase the needed 'inner'. A quality item invented by a great gunsmith.
