Thanks this was very helpful.RonAKA said:Sirri, the short answer is no, it can't be changed. There are two problems. First your 17HMR is a rimfire, probably made in Canada. The Target AccuTrigger is only offered to my knowledge on the centerfire Savages made in the USA. While they both use the same principle of the center safety blade, the triggers are actually different in overall design. Not interchangeable. Also, I hear Savage will not sell them (only replace them if you send the gun in).
The second problem is that the centerfire AccuTrigger is not really different than the standard AccuTrigger on the centerfires. It is just tuned better, and I suspect has lighter springs.
The good news is that if you are reasonably handy you can tune your rimfire AccuTrigger to give less than 1 lb pull, and with care 10-12 oz. may be possible. Here is how I got mine down to about that level.

Hows the weather up north? have you been able to get out and do some shooting? other than the trigger how do you like your 17 since you got it back from savage? I think Ron gave you some pretty good advice.

Thats to bad. Siiri and I had our first cracks with the target accutrigger and now I wish all my Savages had the target trigger.rfurman24 said:The "Target" accutrigger has a different sear than the non "Target" trigger. The centerfire triggers will not fit the rimfire as already stated.
