That something to ask Dawn Killough about, I have no knowledge of the ARA factory rules.@MrG52, I wonder if the older CZ 452s are legal in production class in ARA? Correction, I see they are legal. Is there any particular model of 452 that I should consider?
No it was never checked as its a violation to change that dimension per ARA rules in the factory class. With the gunsmith work you've already done, was the headspace checked? It can be fine tuned with shims. Or ultimately replace with a custom barrel. Now you're at a custom rifle price.
Admittingly I don't know those rules, but it would seem you could measure the HS to know if it is an issue even if you can't correct it???No it was never checked as its a violation to change that per ARA rules.
How does the scope make the rifle more accurate?Things that every shooter can do with their rifle that WILL MAKE IT MORE ACCURATE.
1. Bedding
2. Trigger
3. Ammo
4. Scope
If these don't work buy another rifle and start over.
More power, aim small miss smallHow does the scope make the rifle more accurate?
reticles make difference such as a target dot and fine crosshair for benchrest vs heavy or duplex for hunting vs "Christmas tree" for PRSHow does the scope make the rifle more accurate?
I read through the replies, Looks like you have been working pretty hard to do everything that you need to get you to where your at right now and that is 2450. THE next step is exactly what your not wanting to do, and thats getting a case of ammo that shoots the smallest groups in that rifle. You can do everything within your power, But if you are not willing to go the next step in finding a smaller grouping ammo.. You will stay right where you are at.Several guys have done the Lapua test center thing but I am not ready to spend that kind of money on a case of CX or Midas.A couple of my rifles shoot SK Std + and SK Biathlon pretty well.
Last year I was shooting an ARA match with a Bushnell 6-24 Match Pro. This was the brightest, clearest, sharpest optic I have ever looked through and I was over the moon happy with it ... UNTIL ... I shot a perfectly centered X then came off the rifle to single load, then shot the same bull AGAIN because the scope's lower magnification and LARGE center dot covered the X, which I couldn't see. That error netted me a zero for that square. Next match I had a Sightron 36X with a thin cross hairs and an itty bitty target dot. I've never made that mistake since, knock on wood. How does the scope make the rifle more accurate?
Excellent advice @Rtheurer. I can afford to go down the Test Center rabbit hole and buy a case of ammo but I am not sure I really want to do that just yet however, I am not totally ruling that option out.I read through the replies, Looks like you have been working pretty hard to do everything that you need to get you to where your at right now and that is 2450. I shoot against some local guys who are National Champions. I know my skill level is about or close to what they can do. I am also not willing to send my two RIfles to the test center for ammo. So i understand your decision , I have several cases of Eley 10X that shoot Good... or Good enough. However i know for a fact that those two guys have rifles that shoot much smaller groups than my combination.
That target is AWESOME. I'd frame that baby.If I were you, work with the CZ At-one, although I would want a 24" barrel, but that is what you have. Try different holds on your rifle, these light rifles usually don't do well trying to shoot free recoil, mine I would the top of the stock while pinching the trigger. If your shooting using the magazine, try loading one at a time without it. Then try different ammos. Mine liked Eley match, there is almost always plenty for sale over on RFC at reasonable prices. Last suggestion, find a older CZ 452. The way to tell is, either no letter prefix or a A prefix. I don't know what the difference was after B and C models came out, but there is an accuracy difference. JMO
Best target I ever shot with the older CZ outside 50 yards 12X scope.

If your cross hairs cover 2 min, you can't shoot 1 min.How does the scope make the rifle more accurate?
That is a great attitude!so what do I have to lose except safe space?
+1^^ I have the 452 Lux like the one you have pictured above. Love that thing. The one I have is accurate above its price point. Squirrel hate that thing. That something to ask Dawn Killough about, I have no knowledge of the ARA factory rules.
Both the CZ's I used were Military Trainers, hog back stocks, pencil barrels. I would think the American would be a better choice, heavier barrel, the stock more conducive to using a rest. I never had a American, so I really have no idea. The only rules we had, they had to be all factory, 12X scope, have a magazine and the muzzle had to be no larger in diameter than a dime. Still, I would only be looking for the early models.
This is what mine looks like.
