AccurateShooter.com--What, No Complaints?

Some of you have followed our efforts to get an alternative name for the site. There have been many helpful suggestions. We went ahead and registered 10 domain alternatives. The three most popular were AccurateCalibers.com, AccurateShooter.com, and RiflePrecision.com. The latter was pretty nice, but we eventually went with AccurateShooter.com.

Based on a user survey, the vast majority of you guys said "don't mess with the name." We understand that reaction. However, down here in the trenches we deal with industry reps all the time who, on hearing the site name for the first time, think the site is ONLY about 100-200 yard shooting with the 6mm BR Norma case.

Consequently, we've been fighting an uphill battle to secure even a fraction of the sponsorship you'll see in a print magazine. There have been many users who have donated to the site and for that we're grateful. But sponsorship is the key to growing the site.

Moreover, it's our goal to do some serious testing, multiple barrels, custom reamers etc.) and that takes serious resources.

Anyway. If you don't like the new "nickname", you can keep using the site the way you always have. But you'll see some features, like the BLOG, identified as AccurateShooter.com content. We're doing that to spread the word.

With your help, the site will continue to grow. As we get more donations and sponsorship, hopefully I can pay some writers to deliver the kind of articles you guys like. Right now I work 30-40 hours a week on the site, and it's not unusual to pull 4 or 5 all-nighters a month to meet deadlines.

With more resources at our disposal hopefully some of these tasks can be delegated. I want to thank all the guys who have labored hard on the site with me, particularly Jason Baney, Korey Hamzeh, Bob Blaine, Jim DeKort, Danny Reever, Rich DeSimone, Froggy, Larry Medler, and ALL the guys who've worked with us on the Gun of the Week stories. Each of those guys has devoted many hours of their time to these projects, all without compensation.

So... Enjoy 6mmBR.com and AccurateShooter.com . The mission is the same--well-crafted rifles that shoot great.

So who's up for a T-Shirt order? We're thinking 6mmBR.com on the front and AccurateShooter.com, writ large, on the back.

Hi Paul. Like in any business, things change as the company grows. The new name is reflective of the popularity of this site as well as the scope of interest of those who visit here.

While many of us focus on a single type of formal competition, most are also hunters and sport shooting enthusiasts in general, using a variety of guns and gear for our hobbies.

Keep up the good work..your efforts are appreciated!:thumb:

The "new" name is great. I also like 6mmBR.com, but even when I tell people about it they think it's only for that caliber. Whatever you call it, I appreciate the site and the labors of those involved.

Best ... ReedG

Reed,

Thanks for the kind words. The situation you describe is exactly why we've activated the alternate portal. People can just type in www.AccurateShooter.com and they'll end up in the same place. And nobody's complained yet that we don't have info of interest to any serious shooter, no matter what caliber he prefers...

Jason,

Boy's wear XL! I've got big feet and hands too..............and you know what they say..................LOL!

Danny

Seems to be interest in T-Shirts. I'd like 'em printed front/back light tan shirt, Hanes Beefy T. I'll be checking around on bids. Wish I still had my MAC running with Illustrator on it.

I'll have to check bids, but I doubt if I can afford to run more than 50 or so initially, maybe 10 L, 30 XL, 10 XXL,XXL will cost a bit more).

You guys want 6mmBR.com on front and AccurateShooter.com on back, sort of like this> --

Paul,

Sounds good to me. Don't scrimp on the quality though just to try to keep the price down. I hate it when after the first washing it shrinks three sizes! The cheaper ones always seem shorter in length than the better, more expensive) ones to start with.

Danny

You might try Mark Gerstner in Wilie Texas. He's Jerry Stiller's neighbor, a benchrest shooter and screens T-Shirts under the name of Mr. G's Ts. Jerry can tell you his contact info and Mark is a good honest guy to deal with.

He also does the screening on the trophy plaques for the Denton matches.

Paul,

I'll order a T-Shirt also if you decide to make them. Unlike the rest of these fat guys, I wear a Large. :-)

Regards,
Kory

So what's up with the T-shirts? Was an order ever placed for them? Also, I've been trying to find a source for a Lapua shirt with no luck. Anyone know where to get one?
