Accurateshooter.com swag

Nothing for now. We printed up a couple dozen T-Shirts a few years back. The problem is the time involved in order taking and fulfillment. This site is pretty much a one-man show, with notable help from Jay who also works a separate, full-time IT job. I'm already working 60+ hours a week, 54 weeks/year. We can't charge enough for shirts or hats to justify my time or hiring someone just to do that task.
Perhaps you could farm it out to a third party Marketing firm. Just food for thought

I like the idea of a shirt. I like the "image" that great Scott shooting uses. bright, interesting, and accuracy related (and kinda funny so we don't take ourselves TOO!!! serious). just my .02. bryant

Count me in if someone puts this plan together!

I'm sure there are companies you could give a few emblems to and they woud do all the work and cut a small profit back to the site. Id be in for a hat shirt and a couple stickers for my truck. A friend of mine runs the toyota landcruiser site ih8mud.com he has a ton of stuff and i think he uses a 3rd party for it. Ill ask woody how he does it if you want.

Food for thought lots of us would like the gear and if you could make a little to help the site in the process with little or no work everyone wins.

So my buddy got back to me, they do their own swag and its a headache that barely breaks even. I'm going to do some research see if there is a basically hands free option that would be cost free and super easy. As long as you dont mind.

Have you looked into something like bonfire.com

To Peebles -- Thanks for the link to Bonfire. It appears that they handle purchasing and fulfillment, the two real challenges. I will have to look at the margins. I don't anticipate sales of more than 150 shirts, and if we only clear $2/shirt, there are better ways to make money. On the other hand it would be nice to see the Forum/Site logo at ranges around the country. I know people do use the targets we've created.

My suggestion would be to pick a logo and place an order, charge a premium... 50$, buys your shirt, pays the shipping, whatever is left is donated to the site. Agreed that forum boss shouldn’t be burdened with it, but he would appreciate the publicity and a few extra dollars from shirt sales. Open a thread, give 6 weeks for people to place orders and pay, turn around on shirts is less than 2 weeks. Just ordered a bunch for work, easy peasy. Picking the right shirt is Hardees part. Do it bi annually, original logo, and or different logo. I or someone would donate the time, can’t take more than a couple hours a week for a very short period of time, or someone that has more time, I would help.

A little over $10 each. Took 5 min. Im sure it could look better with a little time and thought. Got the logo pic from the accurate shooter FB page. Could do different colors or different designs

Customink.com makes great shirts, and does group orders - nothing to coordinate - just put up a design, and post the link. People could pay for them as they like. I believe theres even a fundraising option as well.

I designed several jerseys for my shooting team from them over the years.

*edit* - I see someone else already mentioned the CI idea..

This took me about 5 minutes to conjure up; has a front & back design. 120 sized XL shirts would cost $8.27 each - sell them for $12, and keep the change to keep the site up & running. Let CI handle the inventory, shipping, etc.

All you do is sit back and swim in the green! ;)

Friends don’t let friends buy cheap T-shirt’s. If you are going to do it. Do it right. I know ever man here has a drawer full of cheap shirts they don’t wear that end up as rags for cleaning guns and windows.... you know that favorite shirt you have/had.... it didn’t cost 8 bucks.

$8 is what the production cost is - I have no idea what the Site Admin would sell them for... I can only guess that it wouldn't be for a 'break even' rate. Good try though!

A shirt that cost someone $8 is a “beach trip special”. A quality ring spun or organic cotton t or high end blend, just the blank, should be $12-15 + (short sleeve) and 2 color screenprint for front chest and back is about $2. Have this agruement with some that doesn’t know what they are talking about next time ;) . The point of this is to get a “good” t and make the site some money without the forum boss having to fool with it, but blessing it of course. Real numbers would be in the $30 range, delivered, with the site making probably 5 bucks a pop.

The 'point' of this, was to kick it around, and just give an example of how easily it can be done, while having someone else handle the logistical aspects. I don't think anyone with any actual authority has committed on any of this yet. And yes - my personal preference is for the Dri-fit type shirts - not cotton.

My friend t shirts and shooting have a lot in common. Sure you can shop at Walmart for shooting supplies and T-shirt’s. Most of us prefer repeatability and quality, we shop else where. I am simply stating facts about quality that’s often overlooked in the custom t shirt market. Things to think about before you waste time on a rag and a “ I wish I hadn’t bought that” experience.
