SAC makes nice dies that are top tier. Whereas, the humble 300BO is more of a dollar beer happy hour sort. If you’re contemplating SAC because you’re planning to load other precision cartridges then why not. If this is focused on 300BO then I would first spend the money on premium brass.

But since we’re talking about spending your money then who am I to say anything other than “Yes!” Please report back and let us know how they work and if possible compare results against a middle of the road brand like RCBS.

Well it’s not really the cartridge, it’s the chamber, all he needs to go with that fancy die is a custom reamer, then that will require a new barrel. He could use the same barrel as long he sets it back enough for the tighter neck the new reamer will have.

A big problem with the Saami chamber is if you use good brass, or turn necks, you end up with about twice the neck clearance you need. Great if you’re shooting cast bullets and converted range salvage brass. Not so nice if you want accuracy.

An alternative that really is a nice die

If this is focused on 300BO then I would first spend the money on premium brass.

Or a proven premium barrel (Craddock or Ranier Ultramatch)....

If your looking for actual accuracy from 300BO and not just a fun range plinking toy then spend your money on a premium barrel. I tested 6 different 300BO barrels and all but 3 shot like absolute trash. Some well known brands shot like a 12ga buck shot.

Forster FL sizing die and Forster Ultra micrometer seating die will give you all the accuracy you need for 300bo
