Accuracy king of the small cals?

We get a permit every year from ODNR, to kill 235 deer a year in the city I work in as cop.We kill our Quota within a couple months city residences get first bids on the deer ,none go to waste only swat team, and former get to shoot in this culling process. I dropped at least a dozen with the hornet, pictures to prove, all drt in tracks, the guys shooting 308,and 556 couldn't believe it,we all shoot suppressed.I'm shooting a hornet ,not 17Rem.
I like it!!! Is that a .17 Hornet or 22 Hornet?
I have a .17 Hornet and .17 Jet, they're cute and fun little cartridges,
More states need to adopt the deer culling within city/town limits
We used to be able to take home fresh road kill
Such as if you JUST NOW seen it get hit in front of you
When cops were called out for a deer related accident they used to take it to the nearby prison for the inmates
-------------
Our goofy liberal Governor passed a law making it illegal to take home road kill
(Who cares what happens to the animal after its dead right?)
-------------
Funny story, I live in a mountain town and used to be friends with about half of our local deputies since a few of my good friends are Sgt. here.
The pics show typical traffic here, so you can imagine how deer just run across the road all over the place.
So a small Doe gets hit right in front of the gas station
its crawling with its front legs only, paralyzed from the waste down, bleating Blah Blah Blah
People pulling up are watching the poor thing try to crawl behind the back of the gas station to die behind a dumpster.
The store clerk lady (obviously green to mntn enviro) calls the police
I ask her
"You got a big Pipe wrench around somewhere?"
She says I think we have one in the back why?
"Im gonna take care of the deer"
She goes off like a liberal bunny hugger,
"Thats so mean, how could you torture the poor animal etc etc"
I just look at her sideways and ask
"so .............ummm you think the deer is better off how it doing now huh? Fine lets see what police response time is, ....for a deer.......and how long the deer suffers, you're the one torturing it by not putting it out of its misery"
Finally a cop arrives, I lead him to the deer
I ask the store clerk, So what do you feel he's gonna do?
---take it to the vet ----or put a bullet in its head?
She put her hand to her mouth and gasped and said
"he wouldn't daaaaaare....."
BOOOOM!
.40 cal goes off in the back around the side
I walked away and left saying "You're new around here arent ya, this aint the big city ma'am"
I asked the cop if I could take the deer,
he then told me the law changed just last year and if he didn't know about it he wouldn't care
But now he has to call Caltrans to dispose of it.
I see about 2 to 5 almost every day on the way to and from work on the side of the road hit.
Liberal laws do much more damage to the environment

17 Hornet, our dept policy is any hit deer anywhere is to be humanely dispatched in a safe manner so as not to endanger the public safety of any citizenry. never had a problem.

My vote goes to the enduring 222. I own and have shot many 6PPCs, 22PPCs and a host of other small bolt face calibers that were very accurate (221 fireball in paticular), but the 222 just holds a special place in my heart. Lots of history. Easy on barrels, brass and powder. Just a pleasure to shoot. At my age it brings back MANY happy memories shooting with dad and friends. Its my favorite caliber of all time.
