Accuracy from Hornady 75 Gr A-max------Anyone like this bullet?

My 14 yo son shot these groups (first 2 @ 100 and last @ 300)at a couple of GH matchs this past summer with his .223AI shooting 75 A-Max at MV of 3,061 fps out of a Brux 28 inch finished HV barrel. Gun is a hammer and he whooped up on the 6PPC and 6BR guys at the match. We are using 24.5 grains of XBR-8208 with Lapua brass and BR-4 primers. He has shot it out to 600 yards but he's still learning how to read the wind. This rifle is just plain fun to shoot and no recoil as it weighs 17 pounds.

I also use 75 A-Max in my 8 twist Swift woodchuck rifle at a MV of 3,550 fps. One heck of a bullet. I am sorting them by weight and then on a Buhay comparator for both rifles.

Frank.... What twist is the 28" Brux??

Catshooter , barrel is an 8 twist and seems to be perfect for this combo. Never tried any 80 grain A-Max as gun shoots very well with the 75's. Freebore is .100.

I have had success similar to 40x Guy.
8208XBR, Lake City brass and Tula primers are a great combination my 19.5" 223AI.
I don't shoot bench rest, just steel and paper off a bipod. I was able to nail a golf tee being used as a spotter at a 300 yard Hathcock match this autumn.
That put a smile on my face.

I had a chance to shoot at 200 and 400 yards. These Amax bullets sure shoot good. Here is 10 shot groups at 200 yards and 400 yards. I'm now for sure this rifle out shoots my .308. I'm gonna try this load and bullet in 600 yard FT/R.
