Accuracy/Form Issue (Pics Added)

Here's something that comes to mind and may explain the reason for 2 different impact points. If you are using a scope, does it have parallax. Adjustment? If you do and you don't adjust the parallax, 2 different head positions would explain the shift in POI. If the scope doesn't have parallax adjustment that would definately explain the shift.

Going in each test and how much .?

My bags are old school denim jeans bags that are most likely older than I am at 40. I have to fold and stack two together to get the proper setup. For the front I'm using the bipod on my rifle and either holding the leg while loading the bipod or pulling tight on the sling.

My groups are sub-MOA but it's just not shooting where I want it.

I adjusted the scope after groups and it either stayed or jumps to the other side. It sounds like a scope problem but this has happened before and then the last time that I was out it was dead on which makes it seem like a shooting form issue.

Chad, it's hard to identify technique problems with a setup, such as you have. A good front mechanical rest and the correct fitting rear bag, will allow you to concentrate on repeatability in your own shooting form. You may have to take a 45min. ride and check out my setups. With that being said, no matter how good, your setup, you won't turn a 1min. hunting rifle into a sub 1/4 min. rifle. You will reach a point where it's as good as it's going to get for your Chuck/Deer rifle.

Surprisingly enough, there was 0 wind yesterday when I was shooting. And no, I do not have wind flags.

Chuck, I'd love to come down any time. Saturday I'm taking my little girl to Cabela's.

My old 22-250 used to move to the right side but it was always the stock forend moving from moisture and touching the barrel.

There's no such thing as 0 wind. Get some flags and you will see that to be true. And if that doesn't work, look for mirage.

I think I read this entire thread carefully but I wanted to ask if maybe you need to look at a level for your rifle.

Yes there are some major corrections to be made for sure; a good rear bag and a stable front rest if you are in pursuit of perfection. But to make sure that everything is aligned properly a level is most helpful.

Also a thought, have you shot a square on a target using just the scope for adjustments to see if the scope is accurate for 'click' values and repeatability?

I found out yesterday after a lengthy discussion with Chuck that I am most certainly in need of a proper front rest and rear bag. They're on the "To Get" list.

As for the level, no I've never tried it. The scope is still in the position that it was coming from the manufacturer.

As for the square, I honestly don't know what you're talking about, please explain further.

That was a great video. I'd always wondered how you test a scope to make sure that the adjustments are working correctly.

I'll read the articles tomorrow at work.
