Acculab Scale

Hi all, I pulled my Acculab VIC-123 out of storage only to find it will not power on. Anyone know of any resources to diagnose and repair it? Searching so far doesn't give any solid leads so I am curious if anyone here has already gone down this path. Thanks all for any constructive help if it's to be had, I know these are "older" devices now so my fingers are crossed for at least a lead or two.

At current shop rates it probably isn't economical to repair, unless it's something very simple like the wall wart. The only things likely to fail while sitting on the shelf are electrolytic capacitors. Finding replacements that are the correct value and physical size is time consuming, and may not be possible if the circuit boards are encapsulated.

If you search Acculab repair a number of companies come up that calibrate and repair scales. I would certainly make a few calls and see if its worth the effort before giving up.

Power supply has been checked to the internal board. The board is also interestingly devoid of the typical capacitors I am used to replacing on other items.
Searching Acculab has turned up not much help even the info Brownells supplied was inaccurate, hence reaching out for info.

Sounds like it might not be worth your time if it doesn't show up on a good visual inspection.
If all else fails, power it up and tap on any internal connections while watching for signs of life.
A can of cold shot will sometimes stimulate a response too.
If it is just a loose connection or cracked solder, you might get lucky.

Thank you all - RR I will look into it. It will be a few days before I get back to it, if this falls off I thank you.
I had gently tried the tap/wiggle tests to no avail so far, the internals are fairly rugged design. Haven't heard of cold shot before. It is sounding lost cause-ish, Brownells has graciously offered to assist. We'll see how it goes I guess.
