accu trigger problem

my savage fcm 10 seems to have a sear engagement issue. about every 5 or so bolt cycles the firing pin does not reset,ie cock.

Have you pulled the action out of the stock and checked for any sort of debris on the trigger assembly?

Also, if you have the trigger set too light, it will exhibit the same symptom. Turn the trigger screw out 1/2 turn and see if the problem goes away.

I had the same problem with my Accutrigger. If it is set to light, it often won't stay cocked. A way around this on the bench is to very gently work the bolt and usually it will stay cocked. If you do it roughly it won't. For a hunting rifle you will have to set the trigger heavy enough to prevent this from happening.
