AA 2230 'C'

Been going thru my powder inventory, looking at what I have that is suitable for the AR (223 Rem) and found that I have most of an 8 lb jug left of this stuff.

IIRC the story was that they (Accurate Arms) had a batch of 2230 that was a little too far out from the normal+/- range, so they bottled it up and sold it as "AA 2230C" for cheap - about $80 shipped, back when Varget and H4895 were selling for around $110 from PV. Supposedly right between 2230 & 2460 as far as burn rate.

Anyone remember anything different?

Yes. Good stuff. There was also 2230S in about the same burn rate, maybe faster. I used several jugs of each in prairie dog rigs. Wish I had layed back more at $60-80 a jug.

I'm working my way through my last jug now.

23.5 grains behind a 75 grain Hornady in 223 Wylde chamber, Lake City brass, CCI#450's.

I used up 16 lbs. of that stuff. Wish I had more.

I have always used 2460 data to load it. I would like to find about 50 lbs. of it, I have used it in several different rounds with great success .

I bought a couple of jugs back then. Currently using it in 308 168 grain. Accurate suggested using 2460 data
