AA 2200

Anyone use this stuff? Never been a real ball powder user other than SHTF loads for 5.56. Shooting 70 gr Nosler Varmegeddons , anyone have any good results with it? Got 200 CCI 450's to spark it off while I was at it.

If you are asking for the .223/5.56 cartridge, it works quite well and meters extremely well. I use it in my .223 for bullet weights from 50 to 68 grains. Western Powder Reloading guide lists loads for it it in both standard (55,000 psi) and NATO (62,350 psi) as well as custom long throat loads. Works well over a large range of bullet weights, but not always top velocities.

Will it function a truck gun parts bin AR?

I don't play with ARs, but the the guide lists loads at various levels if that helps. The guide is online. The 8 pound jug I'm using is from the old "Data" 2200 era. Almost empty so I will be starting a new jug in a month or so. Bought quite a bit long before this shortage hit and my hoarder buddy has more. Measured velocity is very close to book when figured for a shorter barrel. Guide uses 24" and my rifle is 22". 50 fps slower per load...just about what I always figured per inch. My old Ruger #1 with 26" barrel was always slightly faster than guide.

I don't play with them either, that is why I asked. My kid got one, and is getting one for me. Sigh.

I swore I would never own one...I'm too old fashioned and besides, I carried one for work and was never overly enthused. But...I do have 5-6 thousand brass and 4K bullets. So I am trying to find "that" powder that will do both 55 and 62 grain bullets...just can blasters, nothing fancy.

I was more asking for 6 BR , but as long as I can use it in something to push a bullet out of a barrel thats fine too.
Got it. Your original post mentioned only 5.56 so assumed that's what you were asking about.

Listed only for the 6BR Norma, not listed for 6BR Remington.

H335 will work.

Just trying to pick up what is available at the local gun shop when I come across it. I like to pick up powders that while they may not be the best for all my applications, will do the intended purpose. I'm sure y'all know what I mean. Wish I COULD come across some H335, or better yet some AR Comp. AA powders have been fairly available around here.

Nothing wrong there. I've used AA 2200, 2015 and 2700 with very good results in various cartridges.
