A Word About Donations

Just got the Home Page back Thanks . I sent a donation to this site last week and will send another next month . Keep it going . Again Thanks, Art

Been a lurker for awhile,:sneaky: finally broke down & started putting a 6Br together. :DSince You guys got me hooked the least thing I could do was give up a $100 to support one our habits :comp:There is something to do besides shooting, hunting, reloading & 6br. Isnt There?:thumb: THANKS AGAIN for getting me hooked & informed on the 6BR

I want to personally thank Demetrios,12Man) for the heavy-duty donation. He really stepped up to the plate. We are working on a home page re-design that should give us some cool new features. We are also moving various content to new servers to speed things up. And we will be delivering more video in future articles. All that requires a significant investment and members such as 12Man are helping to make it possible.

I just joined because this forum is well organized you can lookup a load or caliber and get a detailed write up.

Perhaps you can get a Paid members page with some " inside info. / sales / discounts.

The Glocktalk site has a large volume of visitors, it also is having a donation / fundraiser. Buy a ticket,$10) type raffle, win a, scope, sights, binoculars, grips.

Its hard to strong arm a small shop or gun smith for extra ad dollars . The larger sites like "powder valley or Burno's or Midsouth,, should have more than $30 a month ?

As for paypal I have had good luck with its simple / safe payment service. Its pretty much a standard for online person to person sales. I cant see how a service fee / donation / raffle ticket on a gun related site would be a problem. They sell scopes -barrels - brass - stocks on Ebay.

Guys have a look at gearpay.com I have never used their service and I dont know all the ins and outs but at least
they appear to be progun. Any one care to comment ??

Greetings,
I just new to this forum & would like to contribute some donation as well. I manufacture the SEB rests & bags & other assecories, btw. I have tried to search the provided link,re: method to send the funds in the first page of this thread), but no luck, cannot get in?). There is no 'PayPal' in, or to Indonesia, so my question is, what other method I can send the donation? Perhaps by credit/debit card? Also how much per month, or per year?
Many thanks in advance, seb.

Great site!

Seb, Welcome! I have been wanting one of your rests since I saw Shelley D's but lack the finds at the time :,

You can email the Moderator about setting up donations or even advertising at mailbox @ 6mmbr.com,remove spaces around the @ symbol)

Welcome to the Forum!

Hi there, Jason. Many thanks for the welcome! I sent a reply yesterday to the mod, but got "mail delivery failed"...?
I will try to send it again, btw.
Cheers, seb.

Seb -- send it to me, i'll forward it. Email is in my profile. His spam blocker is pretty tight due to the high volume of spam email...

I made two donations with pay pal one of them was around 2/25/07 and the other was about a year ago.I hope it was recieved by the proper channels and not sitting in limbo someplace as maybe it never made it to the e-mail address of the site.

Steve,

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. We received a donation from you,STW1648) on 2/25/2007, also one on 6/11/2006.

I try to acknowledge all the donations by individual email within 2-3 weeks. I think I missed the one dated 6/11/2006 because right about that time I was moving and I didn't have email for about 10 days.

Anyway, let me thank you for BOTH your donations. We're working on some major upgrades, including a daily bulletin and a redesigned Forum section that will provide a nice, wide window AND Navigation. I've had to bring in some hired help for these items and they don't work cheap.

Mr. Moderator,Paul)

Is there an amount or frequency that needs to be met to get a "Site $$ Contributor" under one’s name. I ask because I made a $20 Paypal contribution back on 5/30/06 and never got one.

Tripcrow,

Yep $20.00 counts. At the end of May '06 I was in the process of moving into a new residence and installing a new computer. I think you just got lost in the shuffle during the period when I was without email or web connection. This requires me to manually edit a user's profile. I wish I could automate the attribution system but we don't have that ability yet.

Art,

Thanks much for the additional donation. Reader support really helps and is essential to the site.

People may not know, but it takes a lot of time to run this site and no one's pulling down a paycheck. We've recently added a daily bulletin feature--that alone is 15 hours per week. Add another 10-12 hours per week to answer email and monitor the board. Doing a Gun of the Week article is 20-30 man-hours start to finish typically. Producing a new Cartridge Guide can require 100 man-hours.

What would be great is if a significant percentage of our readers, numbering in the tens of thousands) could contribute a modest sum every year. That would make a huge difference. With a solid base of reader contributions I could dedicate all my time to creating new content and then everyone would benefit.

JB, as a fellow firearms enthusiast and retailer, I would highly reccomend setting up a Gearpay account. I use it all the time for my windflag business and am very happy with it. It may draw a few more donations from the members since alot of them may be anti PayPal. I too am going to support the 6mmbr site. Keep up the good work.
