A true Trophy Rifle

Good day,
My uncle was a 50+yr competitive shooter, over 3 decades on the US Navy active and Reserve teams, both rifle and pistol. Multiple All Navy champ. Sadly he is done shooting. My brother and I gathered his guns, at his request, 3 weeks ago.
This was his first US Navy Rem 720 Trophy Rifle. 1942 vintage, NIB, with all the papers, hang tags and box.

Steve, I don't think any of the late 720's were engraved. My 4 were not engraved. I think the Marine corps engraved there's at Quantico in house.

Nice rifle, how do you decide if you get it or your brother? Don't do it like my brother and i did we flipped a coin. After he got my grandmothers revolver, I was so mad I knew a fist fight would have been a better way to decide. I just sits in his safe, I wanted it really bad, he could care less as long as I didn't get it.

We each got one… My uncle won many of them. And we split the M-1’s evenly. We each had our favorites.

Affirmative. They were built in .30/06, .270win and .257 Roberts.

Typical brothers. When I joined the Navy my younger got my guns and my dad's. That was fine because he got New Jersey and I got Utah.
