BlueAltered has provided me with the letter from the Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife to the Forest Service urging them to implement the travel management plan and even suggested some "improvements" to enhance and justify road and trail closures.

The National Forest where I live just implemented its new management plan last year. It closes about 90% of the forest roads from the 15th of December to the 15th of April. We are loosing our freedoms so fast, it is unbelievable.

If you want one of your birthrights back, this is the time to do something about it. You don't have to do this by yourself, there are groups out there that will help you in everything you need to do to open back up YOUR public land.
But you have to start now, it takes time to get things rolling and there are others who are trying right now to close that door to reopen public land again for the public. One such group that will help you is: sharetrails.org they are working to open back up public land for everyone. blue

here in east tn. you would think hunting would be great tree huggers galore have bought up all the old farms they dont even want you looking toward thier property govt land or i should say the kings forests have bars on the rds. plenty of deer they were 13 run over between where i live & 1.5 mi. down rd just the ones ive personally seen buzzards cover the sky here in rutting season the goverment owns all the land surronding the private land so no access there anyone with any health issues like me has to give it up i did 3 yrs. ago 2 old farms i had hunted on since i was big enough to carry a shotgun or 22 were sold the new owners have bought every posted sign around we have lost 4or5 hunters in my immediate family lately no place to hunt ive heard every excuse from the existing land owners till i can almost tell you what theyel say before i ask at my age im not able to travel great distances either physicaly or financially so the beat goes on & license fees go up sorry to ramble on &on but i dont take too this gracefully feel for future hunters guess theyle just have to watch it on tv not real hunting but theyre starting to get some pretty women on these shows regards shooter63 thanks jon bearman

I love unlimited access. I have to add though that humans ruin it for themselves. We have so many pigs that just go and dump things off and ruin it for everybody else. Without the ability to patrol the government figures the only way to control this type of activity is to limit access.

New bathroom and fixtures, installed about a week previous.
Put up in staging area for dirt bike and ATV riders.
One of the "Fine"( :
) local residents drove over it with a 4X4 and the 4" steel posts set in cement around it and distroyed the new building.
New shooting bench at public range set on fire and blown full of holes in less than a week of being put up.
Public shooting range "COVERED" in trash (TV sets, old refers, empty propane bottles, etc.) used for target shooting that took 2 dump trucks and lots of man hours to clean up.
And you wonder why the public lands and areas that they just spent $$ getting set up for the season get shut down? :
STUPID people shouldn't be allowed to breed!

Yep theres no doubt about it, our country has gone out of it's way to show the last three or four generations that they can do what they want without having to account for it. However they can be caught and held accountable, just help clean up and rebuild the area thats been trashed.
Then hide a camera somewhere that can't be seen. Thats all it takes, then pressure the D.A. to make an example of them. If it happens on "federal" land pressure the forest service or blm or whoever it is to do the same. A couple of $5000 tickets works wonders. We can't win if we just roll over and quit. blue

Mikie the reason i left that state 32+ years ago was because the stupid were incouraged to breed, it's probably the same reason you left the bay area as well.
I will hazard a guess that they are probably now at your door step. If we turn our back on the problem, it just gets bigger.

You're correct in every respect. And the worst part is, it's going to get worse before it gets better. And now they're on my doorstep bringing their "city ways" with them.
I'am still waiting for the BIG one when the California Coast falls off into the Pacific, starting around about San Francisco. It could happen? 8) (Wishfull thinking) ;D
