A public thanks to all those involved in my build

After a long 6 month wait I have finally received my custom 6.5x284 with the help of many people.

Thanks go out to Tim at Broughton barrels who put up with me changing my order and where to ship my barrels to be chambered... sorry Tim.

Thanks to PTG for providing me a custom chamber reamer built to John Hoover's specs.

Thanks to Carl Bernosky for taking on the chambering on short notice when my original gunsmith became ill.

Thanks to Alex Sitman for some fine work on the stock and bedding the action perfectly.

Thanks to Bob Pastor for providing a fine custom modified F-Class rest.

Thanks to John Hoover for the Panda action and loading supplies. He is a wealth of information on the 6.5x284!!

Thanks to many local club shooters for their recommendations on parts and builders.... Eric Kennard and Mike Dana.

I highly recommend any of these people on your next build

40 rounds down the tube and she's a tack driver already. Bughole 5 shot groups at 100yds and under 1/2MOA at 325yds so far.... and that's cleaning after every round with a patch. Tomorrow is day 2 on the range at 325yds and were going to see if I can pick up the pace a bit.

Corey,
What barrel did you get from Tim? I got a 5c 8tw from Tim, and It was a hummer out of the gate. Shot a .063 Five shot in the first 30rds down the tube. Took that load and ran with it for the life of the barrel. Love His Barrels for that caliber.

Sounds like the same.... I bought two 1.250" straight tubes, 8tw, 5C blanks at 31" to be finished at 30".

Today made me even prouder. I was shooting 0.5MOA at 325yds for the first 60 rounds down the tube. All of a sudden my POI dropped 3" at 325yds??? I checked evey bolt and screw on the entire rifle and and ran a nylon brush w/ Hoppes and a few swabs down the tube and sent another group down. Same thing..... but the groups were half the size. I re-zeroed the scope and for the last 24 rounds I ran through it my groups were all 0.250MOA- 0.295MOA!!! Friggin sub 1" groups at 325yds.

80 total rounds and I have my match load all settled in.

First organized club practice today with this build. Formal matches don't start here in FL till October.

Pretty happy with the results although the conditions were not that difficult during each string. Only shot 2 strings due to the heat.

198-10x
199-12x

Should get me High Masters I believe? She's a keeper ;)

Impressive stock work. That always seems to be the hard part to get done right with my builds.

I am wondering is that some sort of plastic material taking up the space or shimming?

Then pillar bedding? Is it glue in at all?

Can someone tell me how this is done?

thanks

My guess is it is devcon bedding material..it looks so square and sharp because of the great craftsmanship
And i dont believe it is a glue in...otherwise he wouldnt have been able to take it apart for pics. Unless they were taken b4 it was glued together

great components and great builders, it is sure nice to see what good choices actually result in, nice, always nice to see good work, Jefferson

First official match is in the books with this build... 593-29x

199-12x (was clean till my last shot fired!!)
197-5x (tough round... mirage was changing like crazy)
197-12x (all 9's within 1/4" of 10 ring according to scorer in the pits)
