a-max vs matchking???

shooters,

in general do we thing a-max bullets are as accurate for match shooting as sierra match kings. i have always just used match kings and the smk's have done well with 168 and 180 in 308, 107 smk in 6mm and 140 smk for 6.5.

however the ballistic coefficients and prices are better with the a-maxes, so i thought id ask if anyone has found them better at the target range than smk???

One thing to watch out for with the Amax is that Hornady has changed the profiles with many of the bullets, which changes the flight characteristics,and BC). Take a look at the changes to the 7mm for example.

While there are some notable successes with the Amax bullets, such as Kyle Brown's 1000-yard 10-shot record, I think one is wise to start with Sierras, Bergers, and Lapuas,and Clinch Rivers if you can get them).
