A longer gun case is needed

I recently purchased a new barrel for my SSS stocked target action. My old barrel was 28” long. That set up would fit in a Plano air glide hard case with an inch to spare. My new rig will is 2 inches longer (30” barrel ) and will not fit now.

What are my guncase options to fit my new rig into ?

I put a 8 x 80 March scope with extra high rings on one of my
rifles and it would not longer fit. I ordered one of the big
soft cases from Bullets.com and am very pleased with it.

Is a 30” barrel important? You might consider shortening the barrel or the stock so the gun will fit in an existing case.

If you need a hard case, I like the Plano 109540, fits very long rifles, 32" barrels no problem

Look up http://www.prone2success.com/. John is a long time shooter and makes a high-quality case that will easily fit rifles with 32” bbls.

They make it in 58", too. This case has way more padding than the Bald Eagle or the Creedmoor Sports case. My second choice would be the Creedmoor Sports case, which is a nice case, but it cost more than this one.

My stock folds so went with Cabela's Double Rifle Hard Case, only 50.5, but lots of room for my F-Class bipod and Harris bipod, fiberglass cleaning rod, and three magazines. It also is on sale right now for $139.99.

Can you tell us exactly how long your rifle is from end to end. As indicated above by Papa Charlie, Cabelas has some nice HARD cases which I suspect are made by Pelican but has the Cabelas name on it. I have both their Double Rifle Hard Case (as Papa Charlie lists) and a shorter version for my custom competition grade AR. Both are air tight, have wheels and big handles if you want to pull the case along. Only downside is that like Pelicans, they are heavy as heck, but protect your rifle like none other.

Rifle measures 50.5" butt to muzzle with butt stock locked open. Fits real nice folded in the case along with all my accessories.

If you are looking for a hard case with wheels I second the one above. It is a Plano MilSpec Field Locker. It is about a 8.5/10 if a Pelican 1750 is a 10. I understand SKB may also have a hardcase that will fit an F-class, 30" barrel rifle and that their quality is equivalent/near equivalent to Pelican.
