A little notching action

Hey guys,

I got a request to notch several Remington actions for a Remage setup. Something a little new for me. Looks like a fairly simple way to keep the lug from rotating.

I like pinning, but this seems to be a viable option.

Always fun to do something a little different.:D:D

Regards, Paul

I realize that, but you'll still cover it up. Looks to function perfect with the new lug.

Let's just see what a week or 2 brings around Paul's shop.. !!! :D;)

Looks Good!!
Beats single or double pin lugs 10 fold.

Double pinned lugs in repeater actions have been known to crack the action to the mag well cuts if something catastrophic happens.

To bed, smear some silly putty to blend......done.

Jeez that looked easy, I scored mine with a dremel cutoff wheel and then used a cutoff saw wheel for the big notch
then a file to square it up, I think I have lots more time into mine! To bed I used Dan's techique and paid attention to the clean up on the bedding material and it works good. I can leave the action/lug in the stock and remove the barrel and drop in one I am switching to and just pay attention to the lug as the barrel tightens and you are lined up and ready to go.
