A Letter to Leica...

Ledd Slinger

Silver $$ Contributor
So I just sent a letter to Leica support asking them to speak with their engineering department to implement dual target priority mode laser technology in their rangfinders. The only thing I don't like about my Leica is its complete inability to range through even the slightest rain, snow, or fog.

Please share your thoughts on this and state whether or not this inadequacy of their current rangefinder technology concerns you. If there is enough support for my proposal to Leica, then perhaps I could use this thread as evidence of other Leica CRF owners having similar complaints and concerns on the subject. Thank you.

Drives me crazy in the fog or if it is snowing. Surprised they have not fixed this yet. This has saved a few coyote lives over the years. :D:confused:

Yeah I hate it too. So powerful and compact with amazing glass, but they become dead weight in my pocket when weather rolls in. I mainly hunt in high mountainous terrain so long shots across a deep ravine or small valley are always a possibility. If I see a storm coming off in the distance, I'll start ranging everything trying to get some sort of idea before the storm hits because I know I'm screwed once it does.
