A good Rem 700 trigger?

I have the Rem 700 SA trigger (old 70's series) adjusted down to 1.5#'s of pull at this time, and can not get it set any lighter, with 110% safety etc.

I am thinking about an after market trigger that can be set lighter, I had a 2 oz one and that is too light for my purposes, and I don't want to sell off the ranch to buy it. Must have or work with the OEM safety.

Any suggestions?

Tia,

You can but a Jewell - they can be adjusted from 2oz. to 1.5 pounds, so you should find a weight that you like.

... they are probably the best trigger made.

the Rem 2oz trigger is a very good one designed for the 40x, try adjusting it up to a comfortable level, they are very adjustable.

"for a Remington 700" If you need a 4oz trigger and want the best of the best then buy a Jewell. Otherwise get a Remington 40X le trigger. I have 2 of them and I really like them a lot. Adjustable to a very low pull weight and breaks like glass. I replace my Xmark pro trigger with the 40X le trigger. Its a LOT better of a trigger than the Xmark pro!

Jewell trigger are the best for the money trigger for a Remington 700 hands down. Jewell makes BR triggers and hunting triggers. The HVRTSBR-A can be adjusted 1-3 lbs. I use them on all of my hunting rifles.

I have tried them all... the CG trigger from Xtreme Shooting Products is without question the best 2-stage trigger available for the Remington... one of the best triggers of any kind that I have ever used. A bit finicky to adjust, but fabulous and consistent once you've got it set up. Adjustable for trigger shoe position and angle, first stage take up length, first stage weight, second stage weight, and sear. The Jewell is good, but the CG is in a different league.

Take a look at the shilen triggers,I have several and like them very much on a hunting rifle .

i have a few of the rifle basic's. no complaints
factory adjusted to what weight you want depending on model chosen, didnt even have to touch the sear on the last one it was perfectly adjusted straight from the packet

I have several Jewel triggers and they are best of the best.

Several years ago, I put a Rifle Basic trigger on a competition Rem 700 SA. It adjusts from 4 to 20 oz. I have it set at 7 oz and it works well for me. Easy to install and adjust

In my opinion, there are jewels, and then there is all that other junk. Once you start shooting a jewell trigger te others just dont stack up.

Invest in the Jewell Trigger, easily adjusts and all adjustment can be made with the rifle in the stock..
