A few questions for my 7mm project

Time keeps passing by and I`m still not sure what I want to do with this project. I got a 31.5" Broughton 1:9 5c HV bbl, Mcmillan A5 stock, sweet), and a Rem700 action whith a B.O.rail ready to be a gun but my `smith retired and I need some advice about what I plan to do.

This is what I`m think`in, and questions i got. 7mm saum, 30" bbl- my old gunsmith told me that 30" may be too much and I could have bullet drag??? Any thoughts about that?

I want to get a chamber done that is a tight neck but only enough clean uneven neck of rem brass and not be oversized, sammi), what size neck reammer should I order?

Treaded bbl for muzzle break, will that hurt acouracy?

I`m tempted to send this to GA precision to get done and if I did I would have it teflon coated- is that a bad thing for bbl heat?

I guess I should mention the purpose of this gun, mostly it will be a long range varmint gun, but also shoot a few open F class matches. If possible, a .25 moa gun...

Any advice will help me finish this gun. Please help.
Thanks, patchhound.

Your 30" barrel is NOT to long and I would definantly keep it full length...

If the muzzle is threaded for a muzzle brake, the barrel should be turned between centers for the truest alignment with the bore and as such, the muzzle should be properly crowned or recrowned after the threading is complete...

Take a couple pieces ob brass and do a light clean up pass on them, seat a bullet to the base of the neck and measure the neck diameter and then add .003 for clearance. If on the other hand you do NOT want to turn case necks at all, then take several neck diameter measurements from several different lots of ammunition and then add .003-.004 to that for proper clearance...

Thanks for the reply, welcome to the site.

I have`nt ordered the dies yet but when I get them I`ll have a better idea of what I need. All I want to do is clean the neck up some... I`m still not sure about the teflon coating, my A5 is tan, od green & brown and looks like real tree camo, a tan finish sure would be in order for the bbl. action, just not sure how good to do it is for a match-varmint rifle. I think the bbl. heat may be an issue. Can somebody give me advice about it please? I could live with a blasted bbl but the colour sure would boost the cooool factor and cammo for dog shootin.
Any sugestions,patchound.
