A&D EJ-120 Scale

I bet half the people on this forum have one and those of us that don’t, want one.
edit: I’m sorry, I thought you were talking about the FX 120i.

I have the EJ123 and it works great. Shot an f class string today 60.8 (100.8) which while was only at 400m, the labradar gave me an ES of 9 over 10 shots. If scales aren’t accurate I don’t know what gave me numbers that good.

It often goes for less on sale. I poked the Will Knott web page and it would run $154 plus tax and shipping at present.

I use mine for two reasons.

First, it is already set up to run on batteries so it adapts well to portability.
Second, it tracks trickle charges and fights drift, so it qualifies as a reloading scale.

Not all electronic scales are meant to be portable, and some don't deal with trickling. The ones for reloading need to deal well with trickling in terms of the update rate and the auto-zero.

I will add that this one does a fair job of dealing with the weather changes, but I still tend to protect it from the sun and wind. I also make sure I zero when the temp has changed between revisits. The gain (calibration) does a decent job in the field. None of them are perfect when the temp swings. YMMV

There are several scales based on the 123 boards. Denver 123, Tree 123, Acculab 123 etc. I bought the Tree model several years back. It functioned great as long as it is in a temperature controlled environment above 60F, however mine was extremely unstable when the temps in my unheated garage dropped below 60 and stayed that way most of the winter and I ended up buying a A&D 120. Now that my reloading room is inside the Tree is just as stable as the A&D. Just something to be aware of if it will be used in a colder area during the winter months.
