A chassis vs. a stock

A chassis is a more modular piece of equipment, like an AR
and decent stocks are $900 plus, Manners, McMillan, Cerus etc
I see Chassis for $500 - $1000

Well then what do we call a fiberglass or similar “traditional-rifle-shaped action supporting fixture” that has a “mini-chassis” embedded in it?

I was smarting off. I remember Badger bottom metal, an AI magazine, and inletting costing more than some of the early low cost chassis. The adjustable length of pull, comb height, and integral mirage shield provided by an enclosed forend all came for free.

I prefer AR ergonomics to tradition stocks. When I'm on the gun, they all look the same. I still use bedding with factory actions in chassis.
