And at the risk of embarrassing him, but this seems above and beyond, even for this website.
Just last Monday (5/15) I posted the need for a part on my McMillan XIT stock adjustable butt plate. I had contacted McMillan who understandably said the part was not available unless I purchased the complete assembly. This was an expensive option so I reached out here for some help or suggestions.
Within minutes @PatMiles generously offered to fabricate the piece, but he was just a little too late as @Cigarcop said that he'd already made the piece and just needed my address so he could send it. Man, how about that! Like many of us on this website I was already well aware of Keith's talent for producing stunning rifles (KW Precision) as well as his shooting ability.
I just received the piece and it is meticulously crafted and works as well as it looks. However, Keith has relentlessly minimized his effort and steadfastly refused any payment, even to be reimbursed for shipping costs. Getting this part was going to be a big problem for me, but Keith made my problem his and solved it for me. Thank you Keith. When I renew my Gold Membership next month I will be making an additional donation to the website as a small token of appreciation for Keith's willingness to help and his magnanimous generosity with his time, money, and expertise.
