A big one

Greetings,
There were gas chainsaws back then. My great uncles were loggers in Pacific County at the time. They used 2 man saws, and had a "stinger", a handle at the end of the bar....

Couldn't find a legal bull elk, but ran across this. My Grandpa says the area was logged in 1940. See the springboard notches? Anyone know if chainsaws were prevalent in WA state in 1940?


I saw somewhere that those trees were very hard down lower. That's why they were cut so high. Those boys would cut one down, camp there, and cut it up.
