9mm reloads

Just got a wet tumbler, a Frankford Arsenal, did my first test batch of 9mm the other day, 400 cases with nothing but a little Dawn soap and two hours. The cases came out very good, I will add some lemishine and more time on the next test and I bet they will be perfect. I was slightly overwhelmed with the management of the pins, and I did not like the extra mess of all the rinse and dry of pins and cases vs a vibratory tumbler, it may be more trouble overall but I think it's going to do the best job.

I've been using the Frankford Arsenal wet tumbler with SS pins for a couple of years now. It cleans cases better than anything else I've tried, leaving them looking like new.

I put the cases and pins in the tub, fill it about 80% with water and then add a little Palmolive dish washing liquid. Finally, I add an ounce or two of white vinegar.

After 3 hours I rinse well, separate the pins from the cases with a Lyman separator and put the cases in a large cake pan. In Summer I set them out in the hot sun for a few hours. In cooler weather I put them in the oven at 175 degrees for one hour.

WRT a 9mm load, I shoot Lugers fairly often and they are very sensitive to ammunition. The load that seems to work best is the 115 grain Berry's plated flat nose, flat base bullet and 5.6 grains of Hodgdon CFE Pistol. Cartridge OAL is 1.100 inches. It's on the right in the picture below.30_Luger_Bullets.JPG
